Why does party bus insurance cost so much?
There are a lot of factors that go into pricing insurance for party buses. The main reason is liability. With so many people on one vehicle, and with the opportunity of recreational substance abuse, there is a ton of liability. So, the insurance companies are going to price accordingly.
What are limits for passengers and coverage?
Depending on the state, for 16 or more passengers, you must carry 5 million in liability coverage. For anything less, you must carry 1.5 million in liability coverage.
Why do I have to carry 5 million in coverage for 16 or more passengers?
Depending on the state you live in, you may not have to carry 5 million in liability insurance. However, most states have adopted the federal governments regulations which states you must carry 5 million in liability coverage.
Rated seating capacity versus actual seating capacity?
The only organization that can change your rated capacity is the manufacturer or builder of the vehicle. However, most insurance companies will allow you to have an actual seating capacity if you’ve modified the amount of seats in your vehicle.
